Celebrating an anniversary

One of my husband’s and my favorite spots in San Diego —and there are many— is the Wine Vault and Bistro. It is tucked away in the lower section of Mission Hills, called International Row. We go there for special occasions. The shot above is from celebrating a birthday last year.

This year, my husband and I went for our wedding anniversary. I did not take photos that eve; hence, the photo from last year.

The Wine Vault is only open for dinner and on certain evenings. They prepare a new seasonal menu each week. This place is not for someone who is short on time or likes a large plate of food to consume. It’s for experiencing tastes you wouldn’t otherwise try. And it’s for wine lovers.

Before I met my husband, I drank very little wine. Maybe an occasional white wine spritzer in summer during my college days. Usually I would order a margarita back then. But when we began to date, he shared his love of wine with me, and I quickly came to appreciate it. Today, it’s one of the many things we enjoy together.
