Nautilus Found

Black and white photo of a dome structure, shot at an angle to create a nautilus shape
Ornate dome shot at angle

It’s been a busy week at work, so I’m going through some past shots to post. This is an open dome structure at the entrance of a civic building in Escondido, CA. I had walked all around the dome, and surprise! I found a nautilus! I shot this some time ago but it’s one of my favorite images.

    1. Hi! Thank you for the compliment! I think posting some of your favorite images is a great idea! You have a lot of great photos!

The nice thing is that you can group them into themes, too, besides by just location (blog viewer favorites, most colorful locations/images, people shots, etc….).

  1. Wow – The image really plays with your eyes – I find mine drawn all over the image and then back to the center. Reminds me a little of Antoni GaudĂ’s work – well at least tha’s the name which popped into my head.

    1. That’s an intriguing comparison! Maybe it’s the curvilinear nature of the lines. GaudĂ’s work is so naturally curvy and organic. Sometimes I need earthy myself. I can get too caught up in highly structured, linear forms.
